Default Any chance of some help?

Hi All,

Am in the process of getting the new TSKA website together and am working on the care guide side of things.

I was wondering if any keeper here had any photos of Garter Snakes, that they would allow TSKA to use in both a gallery and as a seperate small gallery to support a care guide?

All credit goes to the owner of the photographer. I am only interested in showing the species itself.

I doubt this will be the first request for photos either.

Nerys and l have thousands of photos on many species, but there are some neither of us have.

Thanks for reading

Rory

alternatively, can someone who knows garters, remind me what these two are..

(they are a pair i rescued from ebay back in 2002? 2003? i rehomed them to a guy who was into animal photography, he built a huge outdoor set up for them, with a real pond and everything.. anyway..)

i'd take a guess at them, but i am no garter expert, so would rather be sure before they are named and go on the site..

one

same snake, different lighting

two

again, same snake, different lighting...

I would say the larger of the two,the one in the top picture is a checkered garter snake and as for the other i would take a guess at either some kind of ribbon snake or a eastern garter snake?

Hope this helps.

I'd say the red one is a Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis which is the Californian Red-Sided Garter and the other is a chequered garter -Thamnophis marcianus
