i like to buy private if i can... you just get to see more and know more about what it is you want.
most breeders are very helpful and can take you round for a long time showing you stuff and giving you info.

Very true, I actually asked Nige if we open a shop would he supply Corns cos he has a great reputation and he really knows his stuff

Thats the way it works though, go with what you believe to be the best option available, its not all about buying the cheapest or easiest to get hold of, and its worth it in the long run. People like Nige will tell you what feeds well, or doesnt, what the parents are like, etc. He has his own site and he also frequents the forums so he's always around for a gab if you need him.

Nige I dont mean to say your corns are expensive, lol because they arent. Just that I'd rather drive to Nottingham/Northampton (i forget where you live)...... to pick em up from the guy with the better reputation than pay the guy I never met to courier them from the back end of beyond having no idea about the history of the snakes you're buying

the thing is with buying from me you know what you get. everything comes with feed charts and shed, and in virtually all cases you get to know all the parental details, in some cases futher than 1 generation too.
most of my snakes now are from serpenco and snakesalive in the states (this doesnt matter to me, but some people go for these buyers above others..)..
next breeding season should be good... i dont think i will need to buy any more snakes now, should be ok with all i have... thank god lol

If I can I try not to buy from shops, but I have got some good snakes from shops that im happy with.
Breeders like Nige keep the reptile industry strong and the reputation of reptiles strong in this country and probably have some effect on Europe aswell.
My aim is to become a decent breeder that sells good quality stuff for reasonable prices and Ive got the snakes/motivation/commitment to do that, sometimes though need a little bit of luck that I really havent had in the last 2 years with breeding, failed clutches, faulty incubator etc.
I now have everything in place though for 2007 and I really do hope this is my year.
Best of luck to all the great breeders out there for 2007.

the only reason i have sold so much this year really was due to being let down at september hamm, and now that baz ran out of money i will have to sell on his snakes too... i didnt have that many of my own really.. next year should be good though.
theres a lot of good breeders about, you just need to find them
