goto norfolkline website...as i dont know the date of hamm etc...later at night is cheaper, or even 2 in the morning but i dont know the distance from dnkirk to hamm...

if you want a passenger, who can speak german (so good at bartering, cos germans like brits who speak german) and is used to travelling in europe i dont mind coming along, i wont get owt myself as i have no cash at the mo..

you will need a little gas bottle/little cooker, water etc for drinks and say pot noodles..and the rest stops in europe are a damn site better than the ones here, picnic stops etc...good bogs.

usually i get the 2am ferry, so arrive 4am dunkrik (better than calais) and its a quick blast through the small countries until to hit germany, i have german maps which helps and i guess its hamm is hamm world over (although my uk autoute software, german map and dutch names were all differant!!)

i usually drive straight off the ferry, then about 4 hours later or jsut before rush hour get my head down somewhere, but as its the weekend that wont be a problem for you

heres some good pics of my last trip
http://www.julianhales.co.uk/journey_home_Aug_07.htm

never brought reptiles back (although have deliverd them to berlin!!!)

i jst kept my gex each in crix tubs...no heat or owt. Just sat on the back seat heat is bad and this time of year i cant see a problem needing to be warmer than a car.

ok looked at my autoroute, says 271 miles frm france, 4 hours....

i guess the midnight ferry would be best so arrive 2am (3am local) and i think hamm opens at 10..thats plenty of time inc stops for wees and drinks...

dotn forget bring back some jaegermeister and fags...

fuel is a bit cheaper there, but the local driving laws are a nightmare, esp in france...you need triangles, fire exstingwishers (cant spell that!) er...i think yellow jackets...

i never botherd with my headlight stickers though...

driving in germany is great, i used to blast at almost 150 where i could...hehe sehr schnell!!!

no probs. im only the road in sheff if you need any bits like i said...as lots of brits will be going at the same time, the border cops (zoll in german will be pulling over a lot, france etc) take all docemnts, v5 etc..make sre tyres legal..fire ex, triangles etc like i said..NO RADAR gun checker, mega trouble in france..

if its a bit enough car and space and your worried, i dont mind popping along to speak/show him the roads with driving, france is bad cos of roundabouts etc and its can be frightning, even for me after 20 or so drives in france, after that is fine..

what you both wanting to get from the show?

oh i have a blue badge which is useful...i use it in europe all the time, great for parking etc at places
