Default London zoo reptile house

Went to the zoo a few days ago. They had some pretty nice stuff.Mostly snakes, mambas, cobras Nice monkey tailed skinks, massive beadeds, crocs and of course the komodo dragon but i saw two exhibits and i thought was a bit strange. There was a common chameleon in with a tortiose and a blue eyed lizard (or somethink like that) In with a gila monster:S:S IS that right???

Its a really great zoo, They got rid of their bears though they shoved them up into whipsnade like they did with the elephants. The okapis and tapirs are great too. But the gorilla kingdom is fantastic but i think they could have spent 5.3 million on something a bit better.

But can someone answer my question, is that right mixing those species, especially the gila??

I never noticed when I was there. I actually thought it would be bigger and the invert little building had nothing practically. I only stayed a short time. Saw the Komodo and though and it was cool

It's a European Chameleon in with European tortoises. They probably rarely trouble each other but i guess at times it may cause concern

Awesome. One day I'll get around to going.

To be honest, is it wrong? I know zoo's aren't perfect, and a lot of people get their knickers in a twist about mixing species, but if something works and the animal is well looked after and kept an eye on (and they probably are, zoo's have come on a long way since we kept animals in tiny cages) then there's probably not much of a problem.

Providing the individuals are okay, that's what's important. And if I remember rightly, Beaded's live on birds and eggs, so if the Gila's got a similar diet, another lizard around shouldn't be in too much danger? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, I know very little about the Beadeds and relatives.

I went 3 weeks ago and I was shown their confiscated coral collection in the Fish House.
I have to say their fish house put The London Aquarium to shame the only downside to my visit was that i missed my footing on a step and ended up breaking my foot

The Komodo Dragons have their own area to the side of the Reptile House which we walked past, so had to go back to have a look at them.
