Default About time to stamp on it? Swearing

Hi
I am not an old fuddy duddy, nor been wrapped in cotton wool, but come on..........this forum has recently degenerated into something from the streets. It seems every thread is full of f's, c's, t's etc etc.

Bearing in mind its an open forum with very young members, dont you think certain things are best not said? Even abbreviating with #* etc is easily understood. If people use this type of language in their own homes fine, but why should others be subjected to it on here? If you swear out in the street in ear shot of someone who maybe offended, its called "an offence"!

Come on MODs, clean this place up before it goes too far.

sorry to hijack this a bit, yes swearing is bad but I don't think its so bad if it isn't directed at a person. If i said my 'jeffing' computer keys keep sticking its not so bad as me saying why don't you 'jeff' off andy. Still not plesent to see but doesn't bother me too much.

Off point, Faith, when is the next gecko import going to be, and who will it be from? thanks!

you can report a post if you spot swearing. The mods can't do anything if they don't see it.

Please do use the report post button, we remove all inappropriate language where we see it, but it is spotted quicker if you report it when you notice

I will do that Maybe if a person receives an infraction or warning it could be done on the thread. That way others will see it and maybe think twice when they next post? It would also assure others that the MODs are there lurking ready to pounce

It just seems that swearing has become the norm, routine language for some people. Having seen how people, especially teens (but not always teens or every teen i might add) comunicate on MSN etc I think its just a mechanical repetition of pressing keys. Seen it on other forums too, the msn speak not the swearing though.

I know what you mean missk, it does depend on its context as to how its read by others.
