" South Wales Police said it was an unusual theft and those responsible appeared to have had access to a key to unlock the tanks. "
It's not unusual at all in South Wales at least We had 3 tortoises stolen last year and the police didn't even give two hoots let alone the local newspaper, I guess snakes make a better story though. As for the keys, it will unfortunately be because the shop is using "keyed alike" locks, as opposed to individual unique keys. I don't know these new owners but I will give them an email with the name of my CCTV supplier because our thefts have gone right down since getting all our cameras up and a visible tv showing that the cctv is working.

The last reptile shop I worked in during the year I worked there at least 3 snakes and about 4 tarantulas were stolen

I sincerely hope that Scales N Tails, Porthcawl get these animals back but it's not that likely
