Default Help....

Hi folks.... i need some advice.
I have a 4 yr old corn snake. I,m having probs feeding him.
just before xmas he went onto small rats, which he seemed ok with, then he went off them & went back to preferring mice.
Thing is now he not interested in the mice !
I,ve tried warming them slightly , so they more like body temp. but to no avail.
I dont handle him much cos it always freaks him out [ as much as i,d love to]
he seems very healthy & he a good size, not thin or anythin.

Can anyone give me any advice.......

Also, should i try to handle him regardless, so that he gets more used to me ????

He is freaked out by handling because he is not used to it. Try and build a bit of trust betweenone another. Take him out daily, for 20 mins or so, return him to his viv and leave. He will soon realise you are not a foe. Once this bond has been established, it it time to tackle feeding. try not to worry about lack of appetite, all snakes have this tendency from time to time, and most often, it is a result of stress. relieve stress by establishing a handling routine.

Good luck x

it sounds like your corn is thinking more about lady corns than food
Its that time of year again, they will tend to stop eating during the breeding season, so don't worry too much about him not eating so much just yet.
