Default To whom it may interest RE ONYX the kitten

Ive only just joined this site after my friend referred me to it.
The friend that referred me to it was the same person that was selling a black 6month old kitten called Onyx on here via her sister in law MelindaGibson.

OMG....im The girls friend and have often been to the house where onyx and Ebony(the dog) live, and id just like to reasure people that in no way are the two neglected or mistreated.

The girl in question is absolutely devestated by these comments, as she adores both and is a good owner.

I know for a fact that ebony is walked....ive walked her myself on a few occasions, and she is a soppy dog....loves her fuss and attention...the only time she gets a bit woofy is at other dogs off their leads, but thats probably due to lack of training.

As for onyx....yes she does spend a lot of time in the bathroom, but she is let out a lot...infact shes even been round to my house before.
The kitten is also a very loved and playful cat, though i agree is a bit shy.

Anyway...the reason for me writing this is to assure you that the animals are not being abused, neglected or mistreated.
The owners both admit that maybe they took on too much having a dog and a cat, which is why they made the decision to rehome(i know The owners asked me first if i woould take them so they could still visit them as theyd miss them lots)

I appreciate everyone saying to phone the RSPCA...id do the same, no matter who it was....to even consider hurting an animal mentally or physically is sickening.

Thank youfor reading my random rant....i know i would be so devestated if someone accused me of being cruel to animals, so i just wanted to clear up any worries.

Have to say I thought exactly the same thing! Why did the kitten have to spend "a lot of time" in what is usually the smallest room in a house - that is wrong on every level.

Socialisation is extremely important to kittens of that age if they don't get it they become very shy as you yourself have pointed out. How much socialisation is it going to get in a bathroom?

woah there!!!!
I didnt come on here to pick a fight with you!!!
I have nothing against you Mel,,,in fact i think your sweet with how you looked after the kittens when they were ill.

All i know is that one of my best friends was crying to me about basically being called an animal abuser.

I do not join forums to talk about personal family issues or to start cyber fights with people.

You clearly have a problem with Tracy...which needs sorting out in RL, not on a forum based around animals.

The thread i posted wasnt to have a go at you, it was mearly to reassure people that something was being done about the welfare of the animals, and for them not to worry.

Maybe i should have kept my mouth shut....as i said, im not their 24/7 , but when i am there, i see no signs of neglect.

If you think Tracy and your brother were bad owners, why did you ask her to take Onyx in?

I did not mean to get involved in whatever family spat is going on....im just here for the animals....

Finally, sorry to have p***ed you off Mel...as i said, its not personal.

if the guy 'threw' the kitten in a bath thinking it was empty, what would you call that. why? cause it played with a loo roll!!!! omg what was that if not abuse!! personally i would have slapped the guy around the house. kittens will do things like that. i think its kinda cute when they do. and what if he had flung it in the bath, and it had been full off boiling water? they would be better off with no animals.
