cheap couriers

OK i bought a jungle jag Sib last year and to have it delivered from Portsmouth cost me an extra £60 on the price of the snake,

now i obviously know that the seller had other snakes in with my delivery hence the price been so cheap,

my question is why is it so expensive these day to courier reptile's around the country would it not be better for buyer and seller if more people who were buying reptiles at one end of the country all got together and had one large delivery so it cuts the overall price down for all.

only asking because i'm after a snake from way down south and its gonna cost me over £200 to have it couriered to me and over £100 for me to spend over 11 hours on a train going down there to pickup.

so is there anyone who want to get together and cut back on delivery prices?

have you tried contacting J&M Courier ~ there's several here that use them and their rates are good

sometimes we offer a bulk run to make the cost cheaper, but the jobs have to be there to combine them, if they all dont fall at the same time then we cant.

As a small courier ourselves we have to calculate the cost so that it isnt to our detriment. Bulk runs are the way to go to make costs less for customers, but there has to be the demand

yeah i understand that the more customers that combine there orders in one run then it lowers the over all price for the whole trip per customer,

the thing i find annoying is everytime i want to get a snake there is no other people that are getting anything from that part of the country so i don't get the snake, down to the high prices of individual courier trips.

i have asked you for a quote but the price was out of my current funding, hence me trying to find a cheaper way of getting the snake i'm after.
don't get me wrong your service is good but for a £100 snake it would of worked out way too much.

i can totally understand that, our fee covers us back to base, so the further away the points are from base, the more it costs im afraid. you are more than welcome to keep checkin back with us to see if we have any runs comin up, cant guarantee it but its worth a try

One option if you see something you like is to pay deposit, agree to pay for food for several weeks, post ad saying courier run x to x and hope others will use service to reduce transport cocts.
