Local reptile groups?
Are local groups linked to each other in any way?
If not would it be a good idea to nationalise them? To help gain more support for the hobby. Just a thought...

I think some communication between societies would be good. Ensuring shows/events dont clash, publicising each others events etc this can aid everyone without each society losing its identity.
As most socities are run by volunteer on shoe string budgets i think there will be some hesitance to try and make them bigger. Of course everyone wants to raise their profile but they dont want it to become too big and then take too much time, loses its fun aspect then.
