Question A right good read.

Does anyone know of a good comprehensive book on snakes. I have a Royal Python. I would like to find a book that would give me some good basic info on keeping, maintenance, health and problems but isn't going to cost the earth.
PS: what does snake poo look like?

I can't recommend Royal specific books, although I'm sure some Royal keepers will be along soon to point you in the right direction...

For a good general python book I would suggest "The living pythons" by Jerry G Walls... Lots of info about many python species with about 9 pages dedicated to the Royal python, and the back of the book has a decent section on husbandry.

For general snake books with a mixture of lots of info, and great pictures, I like Snakes - A natural history, by Roland Bauchot, and The encyclopedia of snakes, by Chris Matterson.

Question

Thanks for the info, on the subjaect of snake poo I found one after two weeks but haven't found one since about four weeks but he's only been fed twice because of shed. I have found small white/yellow deposits and his wet hide was very dirty and smelly. How will I know if he's constipated and will he have to go to vet if thats the case?
