Default british adders

I have seen adders several times before, as i go herp hunting quite often. But this is the ealiest i have seen them.
Went for a walk at Winterton (near Gt Yarmouth) yesterday, just to take the dogs and kids out realy, was walking through the sand dunes and there was one sunning its self in a nice sheltered area. Was quite a suprise seeing as it was minus 1 here the night before.
Have any one else seen any reptiles out yet this year.
Sorry no pics, didnt expect to see anything.

Me and TOH were walking on the dunes at Winterton the same day, what a coincidence, didnt see any adders just loads of smooth newts in the ponds, and seals in the sea less than 100 meters away from the herps, what an awsome place hey. was hoping to spot some toads.

If you go back in about a month you will see (well here the neterjack toads), best time to go is in the evening though, just before dark.

I would LOVE to see an adder or grass snake or any wild reptile for that matter!

Apparently there used to be a decent population in the Lickey Hills (Birmingham), but I think their numbers have dropped drastically.

Where's the best place in the UK to see adders?

(Note: I don't intend on hunting for them and disturbing them. I'd just like to go somewhere where I have the chance of seeing one.)

there still there commen lizard and slow worm are fairly easy to see but only saw a couple of grass snakes and adder last year. your best bet is to keep going and looking when conditions are right, then you'll start to notice where they like to hang out
