Default Powercut?

I got asked a question the other day to which I had no answer!

Would happens to all our little babys in the event of a serious and long powercut? I remeber one a long time ago in which we had no power for two days! what would happen to my lizards/corns in this time?

surely it cant be good! What does everyone think?

You could use a wee generator to run the heating I think. Not too sure how much they are or if in fact it would work but it's definitely worth looking into.

i know a few people with generators but to be honest most species would be ok. you have to remember in the wild there are cold days and dark days etc... just keep the viv shut to try and keep the temp in.

I have recently had a nearly 3 day power cut (which of course happened an hour after feeding!)

Thanksfully we have a gas hob so I used hot water bottles, I put them in a smaller box in the viv so they could come and go in it as they please kinda like they would on the heat mat. Just make sure you wrap them up well... When I run out of water bottles I used drink bottles with warm water in (just make sure it cant run over)

also I always keep a few of them instant heat packs just in case!.

Hope this is of some help
xx

We keep battery run heaters in the storage room as possible backups in the event of electricity failure.

The best thing to fo is have a few hot water bottles that you can use. Just wrap them in a towel tighetly so the inhabitant cant get near it. Also livefoods sell heat pads that use chemicals. You open them then they release a gentle heat for 24 hours.
