Default Anyone going to Houten?

Heya,
With the Houten show less than a month away, I was suprised that there was no thread about it and was wondering if anyone was planning on going. Im thinking about going there to try and pick up some oddities, but I have never driven abroad before and am not very confident lol. Can anyone tell me what its like to drive there? Whats the show itself like?

So no-one is going? Does anyone have any advice for me driving there? Do I need any licenses or anything to bring lizards back? What if I want to buy an Appendix II animal - what happens then? Should I take the ferry or tunnel?

Houten is not the best show but its still very good compared to uk shows. i believe its the 3rd bigest in netherlands!?!
driving there it takes about 4-5hours from calais on a bad day. id take the ferry as you get less hassle bringing stuff back.
you shouldnt have any problems bringing stuff back if you have receipt, anything that needs papers to be kept i.e. appendix will need these to cross back into the uk but nothing else, unless DWA animals!
if your going the shw is huge as its for mammals cats etc so once through the doors get your ticket and head to the right and the reptile sections that way!

Personally I think Houten is more enjoyable than Hamm because it's not as packed!

If you are buying CITES animals you will need a receipt and the correct cites paperwork before you bring them back (this should all be provided by the seller).
I have actually never been stopped at customs though!

I am seriously tempted to go this year because I like my exotic furries as well as the reptiles...

Anyone have any information, how hard is it to find driving?

According to Autoroute, it seems quite easy to get to - just so far! My copy of Autoroute (2005) even has the expo centre on it, so its given me directions to the door. Im just a bit worried about driving abroad, as I have never done it before. I drive 3-4 hours a day at the moment for my job, so I imagine I must be ok, but Im still afraid lol. I think we are going to go for the ferry, as my boyfriend is scared of the channel tunnel (aw). Do you have to declare the animals when you check in for the ferry? Is there a fee for carrying them? Thanks for the info everyone!

Athravan, I cant find any info on it at all. The official site is www.ter.nl I think, and it has some pics of some of the mammals that have been at past events, but the only other info is the venue and date.
