Chester Zoo is great, I kind of take up residence there every time I visit my folks.
They've got a great collection of reptiles although some are kept separate from the reptile house itself, so make sure you don't miss the Komodo Dragons (which are in the Islands in Danger' exhibition) and there's the Gaboon Viper which lives for some reason in the same 'house' as the Okapi - Its because they come from the same geographical region I believe. If the new orang-utan house is open (they're running behind schedule at the mo) they should have a reticulted python in there I believe. The others are all in the reptile house. Many Many years ago I did some work experience there. It is the best zoo I have been to (and I have been to loads around the world)
They have one of my favorites Tuatara. I don't think there are any others in the UK, certainly not many out of NZ. You will love it. They also have the pathenogenetic (spelling?) komodos!

Aww i did the keeper for a day thing at Colchester! not reptiles but meerkats, elephants, porcupines, marmosets, orangutans it was amazing fun! and dont worry you wont be doing any real work like mucking out lol. Its more of a they let you in the cages and feed them and talk about them type day rather than actually doing all their work so they get let off lol
