Was just wondering if there was a database on the web that anyone can access that shows were wild snakes or lizards around the world have been seen or caught and also anyone can add their own data onto it?? Was thinking about creating one but after talking to my coz's bf who builds websites for a living said it wld cost loads and would be a huge amount of work.
Im off travelling next year in search of snakes and setting up something like this would be awesome if not all ready about. Thanks x

the way i would want it to work is that any one who has been travelling and has found snakes can pin point it on a data base map, exactly were they found the animal. This can then be used to pin point certain areas around the globe which can help people like me to find a particular snake which might only be commonly found in a tiny part of the world.
Even if its out of my reach to build, does any one know of any similar ideas that have been created??? I really do think this idea will not only help people who want to travel and find snakes and other exotic animals but could also be used in research!!!
