to my knowledge reptile taxi will charge you as cheap as they possible can. if they can do multiple trips instead of earning more money they will reduce your price as alot of people who have brought from me in the past week alot of the time the cost of delivery is cheaper than petrol to drive due to numerous deliveries if you are flexible with times and dates then it wont cost you much at all

the thing is though they have to cover the costs of driving, unlike a big delivery firm like TNT who have vans traveling around the country every day anyway, reptile taxi are two people I believe so they have to drive to the collection and drive to you so that could be hundreds of miles specifically for your pet, so its going to cost a bit more, I think its still not bad prices remembering they have to pay for petrol and make some money on it themselves

They have to cover petrol costs and get some money out of it.
I was quoted £115 from Cardiff to me in Teignmouth!
and if there was'nt a show in exeter this year where they'll most likely be the species i want, i would buy from up in Cardiff and payed the reptile taxi!

Luckily the show's this year, and i cant justify being impatient when that extra £115 will buy me two more of the same lizard that i want, lol, with extra left over. lol

Otherwise theres not much variety down here, so if i wanted something rarer i'd definately pay to have them delivered by the reptile taxi!

Well from Cardiff to Croydon cost us £120 so over all £170 once paid for the boas. Which in my eyes is a bargain still, End result we got two beautiful common boas which are absolute darlings which had great transport and arrived when said. Fair enough it would of ost £49 return on a train but if your like me and HATE trains then its def worth it. At least I didn't get stressed out and have an head ache for the next week because I had to go on a train. Thanks Reptile Taxi see you soon

if you look at it from a different angle if you need to collect an animal from cornwall you live in scotland. petrol = £30 each minimum(i wouldnt know dont drive) loose a days work which average person i dunno £60 stop over night cos to far to travel there and back in one day say £30 cheap b and b travel back thats another days work. to expect someone to do that travelling for say £40 just to get a leo not worth it is it. remember this is a company for two people to live on. TNT may cost you £25 any where nationwide what ever it is but say you animal arrives dead whats more of a waste of money. depends how much you want that species alot shops can get most things in but for the more rare species or more expencive this service is anything but expencive. ask your self would you drive all day all night for money that wont even cover the cost of you travelling there in the first place didnt think so. plus if you think about the miles on their car and how worthless its going to be when and if they decide to sell it. i dont think anybody understand your local shop may only be 10 mins drive but the reptiles on here could take them hours to get to. then from there to you on top of that.

there are two shops ion chelmsford that do leos, and neither are very good at all. (one of them told me they didnt know a thing about leopard geckos, yet they sell them, i even ad to sex them for her!) if your talking about the one i think you are, i say the tiny babies they have in there, on small stones and sand, and one looked very pooly, she also has a rep for puttin up ad to rehome reptiles, then sells them in her shop. (so i've heard)

i think you got me all wrong, i wasnt knocking them, i understand that they are resonalbe priced for what they are doing (and very good at it), all i was saying is if you want from a long distance, then its gonna be more steep. its to be expected, i think they are a really good idea and i'm glad that someone out there has taken the the effort to do it, think of the animals that could have potentually died if they had been sent by currior.

TBH i have my reserves about curriors, i man its all well that the breeder has packaged them good, but what if they actual currior dont give a s***? you cant tell how they gonna store or handle it can you. thats why reptile taxi is such a good idea, you know that they care about the animals, and have a brill rep.

i think we are talking about the same shop and i do agree the state of some reptile shops are terrible its a shame they can get away with it. reptile taxi have done me alot of deliveries in the past and alot of people read these threads. reptile taxi is for deliveringreptile but i dont understand why order something that fair enuff they are rubbish shops but leos are widely availble closer. for example i believve the girl who started this thread is selling leos. not sure tho. i didnt mean to have a go but a simple comment could effect a very good and friendly buisiness which would effect availibilty for rarer breeds of reptile for people across the country all the best
