Default to fill or not to fill my tank ???

Hi , new here ! need some advice pls ...
I rescued a waterdrogon 7 years ago he was damaged in so many ways but i got him back to health, it was advised that he was about 18 months old and that he might last the same if i was very lucky i got him a nice tank his back legs were like jelly and never worked but we fitted everything for him low and he seemed happy , im no expert but i followed my books and magazines and low and behold he lasted another 7 years . i came home yesterday to find him on his side in his lil pool . i knew hed go one day and his favourite hobby was to play dead ! but im really gutted , i chatted to him and helped him shed on occasion lol his skin would get stuck on his useless legs lol , bought him new bits for the tank and took pride in it as its in the middle of my lounge and now its empty and im really sad ,the tank is empty and i really miss him, he was always there under his light starring out on his slate slab. I feel a bit stupid really , but i was as attached to joe as i am to my dog and cat. My husband and i looked at each other after half an hour of crying and said what we gonna do i with the tank? Its rather big and well im not sure if i can cope with it sitting there empty . If i dont put something in it i know my husband will just decide for me and move the tank , im not gonna buy from a shop just to fill it but id like some opnions .....thanx gem

why not get another water dragon as you already have the correct setup, you know their needs and obviously love them?
if you dont want to buy from a shop there is a rehoming section on here and im sure there was a couple of water dragons on there, or maybe something else you see will catch your eye.
