Default Milton as an all round cleaner?

Been meaning to ask this for a couple of days but I've just been reminded.

I know Milton is apparently a brilliant disinfectant and safe for babies. However how does it work so it is 100% safe?

I know people use it for their reps, but what at what concentration? The same as for humans? Also can you use it for other animals eg invertebrates and rodents?

Thankies in advance

We have the stuff at work, it marks clothes in neat form and really doesnt smell nice no matter how dilute it is, I used it on my rats cages and it made them sneeze and that was at a really mild strength less than bottle recommended. Zaflora seems to work well for rodent cages, but then again so does bleach.
Personally I would stick with a vet type cleaning product like F10 works brilliant and definately 100% safe.

If this is the stuff that goes milky in water then I understand it is TOXIC to reptiles and Amphibians, like dettol.

No idea if it goes milky or not but I'll stick to my Zoflora and Beaclean then!

I use Trigene with the day to day cleaning of the cages and boxes.
