Electric company the CHEEK!!!!

Can't believe the cheek the Electric company has few weeks back phoned through a metre reading.

I pay for the electric by DD and its 225.00 per month so after checking it should have gone down over the summer and so they now owe us 556.odd quid so we get a letter saying no need to do anything just keep paying 225 a month and the 556 can carry on where it is Blinking cheek so OH calls them gets them to give a refund thing is they would have just kept the 556 and not even added it to our new bill

I'll be looking for a few cheaper supplier soon

*nods* some are getting beyond the pale with regards this sort of thing ~ after the last episode with the leccy and credit my OH told them to stuff the monthly DD his motto being why should our money be used to get interest for them ... we now pay the money into a savings account every month and then pay a quarterly bill when it comes in ~ funnily enough we're actually saving money (and getting the interest) to the point we now do the same with gas and phone

sounds about right, did this to my parents! the company told us not to pay for two months so thy were straight! when they wanted a refund

i still pay by direct debit but pay £5 roughly less than the bill for a month so i always owe them some but not get out of hand! i collect the extra interest then and they have to hassle me for money than other way around!

they rarely give refunds, they keep it in your account so if your bill is higher than your direct debit it goes off what's in the 'pot'. I had that with my gas bill so i just cancelled my DD till it caught up. I had a bill a couple of weeks ago for £8 as it finally caught up.
