hey boys and girls! i found this link to a site with the critters around here... exactly right where i live...
yep! it's right from here in this tiny area... it's interesting... at least to me... some great pics too... here's the link and a portion of the site... 2009 in Southeast Ohio I feel fortunate that today southeast Ohio does have quite a lot of public land that is protected (at varying levels) from development and exploitation. I've lived here 8 years and am not close to running out of new places that I want to explore. Since most of the public land tends to be land nobody else wanted, the majority of it is rugged hill country. There is a distinct lack of protection for larger rivers, floodplains, and wetlands. I will wrap up the historical introduction with another Conant quote: "Southeastern Ohio was unquestionably our favorite collecting area." Now on to the herps, in more-or-less chronological order: ... it's got lots of pics of various herps... including the black king... which i am on a quest to find.... check it out if you're bored... oh and it's from this past summer... 2009... great stuff... ... haha! best i could do this sunday... ![]()
