Cheaper than RRP in a PET SHOP yes,

there is no such thing ar RRP, it all depends on how much profit your shop puts on. for example, if your local shop was *one* in nottingham then you'd certainly find yemen chams at cheaper than £300 a pair for babies, if your local rep shop sold them at about £30-£40 you'd not save a penny.

People goto them because it's a chance to spend a day doing something to do with your hobby, the same way I also like car shows. I may never be able to buy a supercar but it's sure fun to go and look at them It's also nice to see a lot of nice cars in one place, it also may be a way to see breeders animals that are from a bit further away and that they can't get to.

Basically, if you can travel, shop around the various breeders then you can get 'show prices' on any animal as you're mainly buying off the same people.

i think it is actually very easy to get monitors at shows. at the barking show i had an adult bosc for £50 and timor monitor trios £250 and i still have a pair of adult ackies for £300. but there were loads, kimberley rock monitors, bosc, loads you just hads to look.

viper geckos - didn't look at prices but there were some at Barking
crested geckos £30-150+ depending on age/sex/colour etc.
red ackies
yellow ackies - there was an adult male for £150 at Barking
leos - there were actually more super hypo leos everywhere it seemed.. there were also raptor/aptor, some giants.. I didn't notice any mack snow.. snake eye etc..
golddust motley corns - I think this might be too high end for a show? Not sure on the price if people had them.
ghost motley corns - £30-50 I would imagine.
albino royals - I think genetic gems were asking £2k for theirs which seems expensive... but the high end stuff, the price is not going to come down that much for a show anyway... Hamm it'll be cheaper!
hogg island boas - didn't see any
atb's (reds and yellows -- patternless) - due to the fact that these are a little harder to display i'm not sure how many of these you would see at shows... and also things like patternless most UK breeders aren't going to have at a show.
brb's - there was a sub adult for £120 I saw at barking. I wouldn't expect prices to come down from breeders on these that much because of their huge popularity anyway.
tokay geckos - saw some adults for £25 each... which is more than I sell them at the shop... as people don't tend to breed these, they get them from shops, who get them from importers... the prices shouldn't vary that much from shops.. unless you found CB babies and then they would be worth the extra money anyway
day geckos - didn't see any, can't see prices being that much lower than shops

Just my opinion mostly based on what I saw at Barking

It depends what you are looking for, if you are looking for something that is likely to have been WC and imported, shops may do them cheaper. If you are looking for high end expensive things, like royal morphs.. people are not going to drop their prices much at a show... corns and leos and other commonly bred things should be cheaper than pet shops, unless the shop breeds their own..

I thought prices on leos/corns were good at the show, monitors didn't seem any cheaper than pet shop prices tbh, and the high end things seemed to be about the same price as the show as you would pay privately.. or from a shop that breeds.
