Default What I found today at my local pet shop

I filed a complaint against them and I'm going to do everything I can in order to close them for good and to put the owners on trial, I hope it will go well.

BTW the shop is known for things like that and for things such as putting 10 baby ducks in a mouse cage, hitting sugar gliders to make them fly, putting beardies in mouse cage with sawdust and no UV and etc

One of the saddest and most depressing thing I've ever seen

Unhappy

I keep two ferrets myself, and that cage is way too small + saw dust is really bad as bedding due to all the dust etc.

Hope they close it down! Also, ferrets randomly sleep in weird positions so that sleeping position is normal for a ferret, just in case people who don't know start to think its dead or something.

Then that is ing sick. I will continue to kid myself and pretend that you're wrong and it's simply doing what my ferrets (especially my male) does and goes into a deep sleep, where it just looks dead.

hehe, he's gotten me a few times, so I end up picking him up, him still being floppy but after a few light strokes on his belly he wakes up..no doubt annoyed at me for waking him

I wish he was alive, if he is alive then he's in really bad shape as he wasn't responsive at all.

Plus it gets to 35C-40C at this time of the year, he has no shade, no water and no food, add to that the fact that he kept on looking like this even when there were 10 baby ducks next to him in a small mouse cage that were extremely loud.

There are similar things but they usually don't have the legal power to close a shop or convict the owners, they just notify them of what ever problems are present at their shop and that's it.

Personally it doesnt look dead, looks like a normal ferret sleeping position and ive had a few that you can screal, shout and touch them and they are still sound. However the cage is too small and if the other things are tru then I agree with reporting them just be very carefull posting pics publically claiming an animal is dead, if its not it could come back on you.

Just to warn you ferrets do this "dead sleep" thing. I picked one of mine up because she was sleeping so deep and her head flopped right back. I laid her on the ground and I was shaking her (gently) and talking to her loudly to try and get her to wake up. Even put cold water on her feet...nothing. Then a minute later she got up when she felt like it, healthy as a horse. At first I thought it was dead sleep then she refused to wake up and I panicked, hence the cold water.

But either way, there's no food and the cage is manky...I'd report anyway.
