Default Dilemma

ahhhh right here’s the thing... i sold my beloved bearded dragon (winston) to my mate last year and we agreed that when im at home again and he can not look after him then i would buy him back. now I,m at home and my parents are saying that thay would care for winston when i move away into uni halls. martyn (my mate) has now fucked off to milton keynes and started a family! and left winston in the care of his little sister of thirteen!

basically i want him back i don’t whant to upset annyone but i could care for winston better than a thirteen year old girl. its doing my head in ive got this really nice swish viv to put him in.

i know that there is a big difference between keeping a reptile properly and just about managing to keep it alive. this is what worries me, the possibility that winstons life may be cut short through neglect through omission...... FUCK what should i dooooo?

i need advice on how to take back what is mine by right.

Have you tried reminding your mate about the agreement you had? He shouldn't have passed Winston along to anyone else, especially without checking with you first.

As you have a new viv and everything for Winston then maybe he could explain the situation to his sister and buy her a replacement occupant for the viv she has?

Have you tried offering the 13 year old the same amount of money that her brother bought him from you for. Teenagers love money and even if she says no just let her know your willing to buy him back anytime and hopefully after a week or 2 she may change her mind when the novelty has worn off.

you want to explain to her parents what the situation is and see if the can persuade her another viv occupant is better. Tell them Geckos are much more suitable for a thirteen yr old and offer to buy one to replace your beardie Or just buy a baby beardie and make out it'll live longer for her but u just want urs back. I hope u can get winston back.

I have to agree with Scotty, her age doesn't automatically make her incapable of taking proper care of the beardie. As it stands though, you did sell the beardie to your friend which by rights makes the beardie his. Best you can hope for is that he will allow you to buy him back.
