Just remember that if you WANT to breed... they won't insure for any breeding-related complications.

Yes, that includes egg binding in an unbred animal, too.

I think they quoted me £186 for 9 of mine valued at £1500 total value, I don't have any expensive snakes.

I was wondering whether to value them as adult animals or the age they are now????

That was full policy: vet, death and theft.

Athravan,

I'm not looking at breeding so that shouldn't be a problem other than unbred female becoming eggbound.
Do many people insure their reps when they have so many???
When I was breeding my dogs I used DBI as they were the only ones who covered breeding bills.

i dont insure mine, i just make sure i have savings in the bank so i can cover any vet costs, with my collection growing and growing, i dont think it would be practical to insure all of mine.

i dont get how you can value them, i bought some of my cali's for 35 quid and then for others i have paid 80 quid, so what price would i say?

too confusing for me, im too tired to think

This is what I was asking. Are you supposed to value them at what you paid, which may be way below value, or at the price it would cost to replace as an adult animal from a shop or breeder????

I think I'll do what I do for the dogs andcats. i just put some money away each month and it's always covered for them. Mind you I'd be shot if I had one break a leg or come down with a tumour!!!!!!!!

That is a really good price - I quoted on 1 mammal value approx £600 and my quote is only just less than yours lol

I think if you are valuing more htan 1, it is better to ring them and give them all the details. I did this with my chinchillas sat and gave details of all 19 of them and the policy would have been over £120 a month!!!1 i could insure a Ferrarri or that lol
