so pple what weirdo names have you given your pets and why?

my beardie is called duckey after the lil dinosaur in the land b4 time

I do not give names to my reptiles,it seems too much anthropocentric to me... :wink:

started naming them but we have too many too name now

my snakes names always begin with S and the few lizards ive had in the past all bedan with D the names and this is off top of head as it spans back nearly 20 years are Sid Santa Soccer Samson Sonny Sher Slip Shane Sheila Sunshine Shortcake Salvatore Sandy Shuttlecock Darwin Duncan Drizzt and my rosy trantula .malice

Our dogs are rescues and already knew their names so I take no blame for those.

My bunnies - Katya is named after my friend's girlfriend as it was her who accidentally let mummy & daddy bunny out at the same time , and Loki was originally called Lokelani (she's ginger and it's Hawaiian for 'little red one' which my auntie used to call me 'cos i was a bit ginger til i was about five), but that was a bit long and she's a naughty trickster like the Norse Loki so she got shortened.

Syphon the Python (fnar fnar) was named by a friend and it kinda stuck. Killer named himself as the first thing he did to me was try very hard to chew my finger off. I couldn't decide on a name for Savannah so I let my sister pick from the shortlist!

Once one has a name it would seem like favouritism if the others didn't get named

So far i have Lysia, Trent, Titch, Ember, Gizmo and Tak. The for the rats we have Hunter, Squee, Schmee, Seb and Marko... they all have reasons which im not going into as it will take hours

Silver because he's anery and kinda silvery (and I like silver)

Ricki was named Rick because I was told she was a he after the character in The Mummy (they're from the desert)

Sahara and Phoenix both desert-related names.

Skye and Ayre were named after the places in Scotland (I changed the spelling of Ayr to Ayre because it looks better) because I like Scotland...

Don Vito the Sav has the same personality as Don Vito out of The Godfather so thats where he came from but he's a softy so i call him Donny alot of the time or just Don.

Champ was already named but its because he moves fast for a chameleon.

Demetrius the anole simply because he's cool and i liked the name.

Damien the kitten is evil. Rainbow has a purpley coloured tail and bit orange and yellow.

Everything else just ended up being named by me and my mum for various reasons.

i used to name my snakes but have to many now so they are numbered.
chris has a hogg island boa called herbie but thats what he was called in the shop.
I have a BD called vodka cos its my fav drink
2 dogs were resuces so came called alaska and sammi and my american bull dog is called isis cos i liked the name.

Had a debait when i bought my Beardie, came up with the name Sydney seing as there from Australia, only it didnt feel wright, so changed his name to Spike, so i call him Spike, and the rest of the family call him Sydney !
