Gecko - Kitchen towel. Super easy to clean and cheap!

Water Dragon and Beardie - Reptile carpet - easy to clean, washable, cheap as you dont have to keep re-buying it.

The snakes on aspen, but soon changing that to kitchen towel to save costs

to make it easy..

Newspaper - the best for everything except species with higher humidity requirements, and even then it can do the trick.

Seriously though, it's all basically personal preference. there is no right or wrong answer really.

crested gecko - orchid bark, holds humidity well, looks pretty cool

leopard gecko - kitchen roll, to avoid impaction, easy to clean

snakes in tubs - newspaper, practical & easy to clean, can feed in the tub without having to worry about the substrate

snakes in faunariums - kitchen roll, newspaper just looks a bit stupid in these cos it won't stay folded over same reasons as above

bosc monitor - on playsand atm, but will be having a bigger viv built soon [xmas holidays] so will be changing to a soil & playsand mixture..with dead leaves too mainly because this is my "special" lizard as I'll only be able to have one of them so would like it to look good, looks natural, bosc can burrow if he wants, can hide under the leaves..

hope that helps

leopard gecko - kitchen roll (or newspaper it's cheaper than kitchen roll) to avoid impaction, easy to clean

Good points, just shows that there isn't really a right & wrong substrate for each species, different ones work well for different people

I would say (although, of course, this is personal preference):

Corns: Aspen, to dig in, they dont need moisture
BRB: bark chip, holds moisture well, looks good.
