Right...found their website but the guess the species contest ended on the 20th March...

And their site hasn't been updated in a while, there's not really anything about what they do there at all.

Default Reptile Aid

Reptile Aid is an organisation that has been operational for the past 4 years this August. Our main aim is to care for wild or abandoned Reptiles for the UK however our work mainly for the North West (as we are based there.) We receive many emails regarding re- homing of animals the most recent a Tortoise from Liverpool which we rescued as it owner had began to neglect it. As we based in the North West we hardly get any calls about resciung wild Reptiles as they are not common. The sand Lizard is the only Reptile that is mainly in the North West however that is protected by national law. That is one asspect of our work the re- homing and rescue side.
The other is responsible keeping and we try to organise events at certain times of the year mainly around the Chirstmas period when the public tend to purchase Reptiles as Christmas presents. We offer advice and also distribute information packs etc to people upon request. This area of our work is very important indeed, because if people are made aware of the responsibilties of keeping these animals then the welfare of them is better and they can then lead a enjoybale life.
As we are a non profit organisation we rely totally on donations and our fundraising activities to raise enough capital to care for Reptiles that come into contact with us. Therefore we organise many activities to raise enough funds to help us care for these animals to an excellent standard. Also the capital raised contirbutes towards projects that we run, however these projects only remain on paper until we can generate enough capital needed to carry out the projects.
That is mainly what Reptile Aid does and I hope it has given you some light on our work.
Regarding the website I agree that it needs updating however out IT lady is not very well and has been in and out throughout the past few months. Therefore I will get her to priortise her work towards the website next week. As I hope that she will be in then.
If I can be of anymore help please just add a reply. So I hope that any concerns have been cleared up and also I do not like my organise being referred to as dodgey. At lot of hard work goes into the organisation and I would ask that you do not judge without knowing what we are about.

Well what exactly am I supposed to think when you post nothing more than an e-mail adress and topic asking for money without stating what it is you do? You didn't even post the link to your website or provide any information other than ask for money. I don't give money randomly to anyone who asks for it without knowing what it is actually for. As for this competition is it a new one being organised? When is the closing date? What is the prize? Why are we expected to e-mail when it would be a lot simpler and a lot more effective if you simply stated these clearly in your first post.

Sorry about that maybe I should have provided more information about the competition.
'Guess the the Species' competition is a fundraising activity that we started last year. However it was not successful due to the amount of money raised (£10.00). As you can imagine with raising such a small amount of money it was helpful but not as helpful as we expected. However this year we are determined to make it more successful and now are advertising the competition and also getting help from local businesses that we hope will donate prizes towards this. The competition costs £1.00 per entry. The closing date is the 30th of September 2006 and the draw will be on 2nd October 2006.
Regarding the image itself I hope to have it up on the website by the end of next week all being well. Also once we have secured the prizes from the businesses I will post them on here.
I hope that is ok for you and again sorry I should have been more informative.
