Recommended Reptile Books

Is there a list any where of recommended reptile books??

I'll start off if there isn't;

Chimaria Geckos, Professional Breeder Series, by Henkel & Schmidt

The book has a list (like a dictionary) of gecko speices with a rough guide on caring for them (tank size, temp,humidity,group size, adult size, feeding etc) and also amazing photos!!! Enough to get you started on the geckos that don't have care sheets.

A must have for any hobbyist looking to get into other gecko species!!!

Books are WAY better than the internet as you can't always find everything on there!!! and even as great as this forum is you can't always get the info you want and it is peoples opinion and experience's that they tell you about.

Hmmm, the info on the net is not always correct, you need to be careful and look around, maybe take info from several different sources and that way you can see the common themes cropping up and are more likely to get appropriate info.

I agree with the original poster, that gecko book is a very useful resource.

Chameleons - Natures hidden jewels. By Petra Necas

Rhacodactylus - A complete guide to their selection and care. By A Repashy, F Fast and P de Vosjoli.

The Corn snake manual ( K Love) is a great book for anyone starting out with snakes - never mind just corns.

that is definately a great book!!!

I think that all the TFH books are great for beginners with clear info and nice pictures.

The best 2 books I've come across are

The reproductive husbandry of pythons and boas by Richard Ross and Gerald Marzec
Keeping and breeding corn snakes by Michael J. McEachem

The first is hideously expensive the 2nd ridiculously cheap.

Terrific reference book and great for any tricky i.d's

herpetoculture of leopard geckos - ron tremper, is a great book. covers almost everything, a really interesting read.

can anyone recommend a really good beardie book?

i agree, the ron tremper book is a bible when it comes to leopards.

i really like the AHS series of books, one of my favorites being the savannah and grassland monitors book.

decent information, well thought out and put across.
