Hi all,

When you breed two Corn Snakes snakes, EG

Amel x Butter

Is this male Amel to female Butter

Is the male snake always put first in breeding of two snakes.

I no it may be a daft question but I am just starting out in genetics.

Thanks

I assume you mean when written down then, it depends how people write it, but usually you list male then female, not that it really matters

Generally, it's good practice to put the male first.

However, if I just saw "Amel X Butter" I wouldn't assume I knew which parent was which.

I have one pair that I'm more likely to describe as Charcoal het Blood X Coral Snow het Blood (where the male is the snow) just because the Charcoal is the older of the pair, for example.
