Default new viv suitable?

Hi, I have just bought this viv from ebay. It is 46 inches by 24 inches by 41 inches, does it look suitable for a bearded dragon?

I have just bought it and have not picked it up yet, Im going to get it from Scotland on Sat. When I get it, it will have a white spot light and uv light and lots of levels so my Dalglish can get high enough to the heat and uv lamps. Is this ok? I didnt know lights had to be ceramic ones either? Im confused now and worried that I havent been doing it right

They don't have to be ceramic. Beardies associate bright lights with their heat source - ie the sun. You can use ceramics but its recommended that you use a light as well, just a low wattage one.

Only things i can think of is:
a - they're wrong
b - a light bulb might not heat the full viv but as long as you get the hot, cool and a warm area. whereas you can get a 250watt ceramic that'll heat the air more although to do that it'll raise the heat of the hot spot.

if you do struggle with temps you could get an AHS heater and a low wattage bulb for the 'sun' without too much heat.

It looks a suitable size, so the only other thing that matters is the heating method.

thought thats what you might have meant with it being a fair size. Although by the time you've bought a 250watt ceramic and a pulse stat a AHS might be cheaper.

iv always been told that beardies should have a light/heat source like a basking lamp... mine wont bask unless the light is on as well and i mean they both do the same thing... I would certainly recommend a light source for them to bask under...

An AHS is like a little radiator with a built in stat. Useful for heating bigger areas but you'd still need a light source for the natural light replication.
