I got no problems with the guy who started the thread. He had an idea, got some advice against doing it and listened. All's good.

My problem was only with the quite frankly dangerous suggestion made by you which was to just use "trial and error". Again,
I ask you, what would you class as an error?

Amazing looking set up

Would love to see some more photos of the longtails living it up in there

Great creativity, and great that you're getting their kids involved, Reps are definately alot cooler than dogs

Great work man

As much as I don't agree with the original concept and all so the maintained idea of mixing to a lesser degree and that there appeared not to be much research prior. I have to say its really commendable how you have constantly engaged with the thread and taken on board what people have said. It is all to easy to take hard criticism as annoying but you have stuck it out.
Congrats and good luck.

If anyone has bothered to notice, jinja has not responded to this thread since the 13/03/09.He certainly has not been discouraged away from the hobby, but he has been discouraged away from RFUK to some extent, going over to other forums to gain more constuctive and helpful advice.

I met jinja in June of last year,to pick up a Carpet Python he had for sale.I must say i was blown away by this project, and the Royal project and the plans he has for his office going on.I was gobsmacked when he told me he was pretty much a newbie to the hobby. It certainly did not show, either with the animals care or in the wealth of knowledge he has accumulated in such a short space of time.

He had taken the decision to add some anoles to this set up,and everything,as far as i could see,was perfect. Both species were breeding prolifically, offspring running about the place, not being consumed by the adults,no signs of stress or any desease's.

Perhaps his original thoughts were a bit ambitous(who can put thier hand up and say they've not had similar when they first joined the hobby),but he's taken the constructive advice onboard and certainly proved a few of you wrong.

My hat goes off to you jinja, you've done yourself, and your animals proud.

Later Gator

Cheers Mark (how's the carpet doing bud?) and to all the others that have actually bothered to read the full thread instead of sticking their tuppence in to big up themselves after reading just the first post, it is greatly appreciated to hear 'voices' of reason in amongst the absolute tosh and endless bashing on this site.

As for the set up - it is looking good and all are very well and healthy and I've had to give many Asian Long Tails away for free other wise I'd need a 20ft tank....lol

Thanks again to all those that helped me with constructive criticism I received as a newbie to the hobby, it was most appreciated and helped a great deal in the early days. To all those that just 'felt the need' to stick their nose in and jump on the band wagon

It's been emotional, peace & love.....

PS....Some pics of my rep room for you all....
