Talking My snake room :D

Always in development, all the wooden vivs are home-made
The 'working area' is not shown.

It's very hard to photograph there, the room is tiny!

Hope you like it, I'll take pictures of individual vivs later

Thanks, There are currently 8 wooden vivs, 100x45x45 cm, including one I use for young snakes in their large flat faunariums. There's also one small fiberglass viv for my housie.
I have 11 snakes right now, but this number tends to increase rather quickly (with two more snakes I've already got with paid deposits).

Hiya, It looks like OSB to me is it easy to work with ? Also did you need to sand it on the outside and have you varnished it ?

Hi, The external dimensions of each viv are 100x45x45 cm. The price was a funny story, I've recently paid £28 for wood for a 2-stack and two singles- the people at my local B&Q made a mistake labelling it and so I got it much cheaper! I wasn't there personally on that day, so don't blame me

OSB indeed ! It isn't to easy to work with since it's very hard, but it's also very sturdy and can take much weight. There was no need to sand it.
My vivs are relatively dry but it's suitable for outside use, so I suppose it doesn't need varnishing (the corners/edges if necessary).

I have thought of using OSB for my reptile room as the sheets are big and quite cheap, I also like the look of OSB when it is varnished.

Did you just predrill all holes, also is there anything you learned that could be passed on ?

Predrill the holes, use something to help you keep all the angles right and use glue on the OSB before you start screwing it together
