Default My Crestie project is complete!

Hey guys. My DIY crestie viv made out of melamine type stuff from B&Q (sealed with silicon) is finally complete and all kitted out. On the left is 1 adult male crestie and the left is 1 adult female crestie. Each side is roughly 50x40x60cm (WxDxH), give or take a few centimeters. Tell me what you think!

In the 1st pic, there is a plant missing in the back left corner of the left viv, but can be seen in the second pic.

Next to a 45x45x60 exo terra for size comparison:

Hope you like it, as i am extremely pleased with it

Ed

That looks really good, well done! If you don't mind me asking, how much did all the materials cost? I went with hardboard and a pine frame with a fly screen mesh when I made my latest viv as I couldn't find any glass cheap. Im guessing you have the chicken wire on the top of the viv too for ventilation?

Hi. Thank you for your compliments! The board cost me about £20 and the guy in B&Q cut it to the sizes i wanted too . A local glass cutters quoted me £35 for glass with smoothed edges (two sliding doors and the center divider), but when we got there, they said they could do the glass and take off the sharp corners for £14! We went with that and it works great. I couldn't find any wire mesh, so it's just plastic garden mesh from the garden center. It seems to work fine. That cost me about £1, and i also sealed it with silicon that cost me about £8, so all in all, it was a bargain. The top is all meshed over also. Thanks again,

Ed

Thanks for the complement . In my sig, the pic on the left is Phlesuma ornata (ornate day gecko) which i photographed on Ile Aux Aigrette - a small island reserve off mauritius. The pic on the right is a male Phelsuma Pasteuri (Pasteur's day gecko) which i keep.
