well the back rounds are easily removed or you could put the heat mat on the side rather than the back

Yeah for my G. Rosea the heat mat is simply on the side.

well i set some up late last night and have put them in my reptile room for a couple of days. I have made up the shelving units tonight - im using the 8 cube 'pine cube' from B&Q (£39) which fit the 30x30x30 exo perfect. Heat mats are on and lighting but forgot to buy pluges for the lights! ill get them tomorrow after work. The units needed a little doctoring, i have taken photos of each stage to post up. Know its taking a while so stick with me i promise loads of pictures. The first unit will be horizontal so i can house 8 30cm3 and on top 4 of the 30x30 x45 with hoods.
second unit is going to be vertical which can hold 8 x 30cm3 and on top im going to place a small wooden viv i have. I have bought 4 so far to go on here! also have picked up 2 of the 45x45x60s with hoods. (18 exo terra to sort out!!!

Mart I am also looking into this option as they are very nice habitats.
I want to keep bullfrogs and Spiders in mine but I do see the heatmat option becoming a problem.
I have read that if you put it on the floor when the Bullfrogs burrow they can dehydrate and die in only a few days,I think if the heatmats are used they need to go on the side as the back has a nice big poly rock that will block the heat.
