Default Getting RID of aquatic sealant!

So - I purchased off ebay a 4x2x2 viv which looked good condition. Got it home and it was filthy, old and generally a bit beat up. Cleaned it up, in the process of refurbing it and I'm going to be re-doing the sealing - but I wanted to know how to get rid of the existing sealant!

I can pick at, but that'll take aaaaaages. Stubborn stuff! Anyone got any tips/trick/solvent ideas for the stuff?
