Default Crested Gecko viv build. Any good ?

Right,

Iv been playing around with a few idea's and think that this is what its going to look like.

31" tall, 15" wide, 15" deep.
Glass sliding doors.
rear vents in each viv will be 400mm x 100mm at the back right at the top. However someone did suggest i put some vents at the lower front aswel?

It will be made out of 18mm conti board, sealed with varnish, then covered with fablon all over.
With a slate floor, and a shed load of plants!

can anyone see any possible problems or errors ?

many thanks

id put more vents in tbh as you will need good ventilation as you will be spraying daily and if you dont have good enough ventilation you could get the dreaded mould!!!

i have my female currently in an exo terra like this

im also in the process of converting this into a viv

going to have big ass vent at the top back, some stick on LED push lights for viewing and a load of branches and fake plants

Its an option to look for these, works out rather cheap, this one was £18.75 from a charity shop!!! my bargain!

also i have slate flooring in my females tank, its brilliant with keeping it clean.

however the other exos have eco earth which holds the humidity really well! i have also tested with kitchen roll too which isnt too bad!

could be an idea to have a split raised floor, by about 1cm for the slate tile and some eco earth the otherside!

Could you explain the split / raised floor a little better for me!

I have changed the front lower part, its now 200mm high and it will have a 50mm X 350mm, vent in the front aswell.

So it will now have vents both front and back.

Looks good to me!

As Mush said, more ventilation would be necessary, You don't want anything going mouldy!

I've covered the bottom of my exoterra with eco earth and then a slate tile that covers 3 quarters of it, found this very useful for standing stuff on and cleaning but it also gives them different surfaces to have a wander on!

Good luck with it mate, let us know how it go's!

yeah just like that! you dont want the slate lower than the eco earth as then it will just go all over the slate and make a mess
