Default building a stack !!!

well after searching high and low and not finding one for what i wanted im going to build myself a stack or two , i hope.

first is a 4 stack which will be 3 foot across, 18 inches deep and 60 inches high! making 4 vivs of 3 x 18 x 15.

second again is a 4 stack which will be 2 foot across, 18 inches deep and 60 inches high. makinf four vivs of 2 x 18 x 15.

does this right and do you have any advice lol ! will be using 18mm MFC from B n Q. plan is go to b n q and ask for wood to be cut , take home drill together, add runners and glass done! basically i need to make a bookcase?

Good luck, I don't trust myself with power tools personally so i can't offer you any advice I'm afraid.

just make sure that b & q cut it to the right size or you will be up **** creek

yeah, dont forget to make allowances for the thickness of the wood

i`m taking the easy route and sticking rubs in an ikea unit, lol

first tip is dont go to b&q to dear and they carnt cut wood right.its not hard to do if u have a little diy skill.the first question to ask ur self is do i have all the tools i need if not it can get very expensive.ive built several stacks so if u need some info on what u need just pm and i will help u as much as i can heres 1 i made

and 1 im working on at the moment

I`ve just 2 deep bookcases from Argos into 2 x 3 viv stacks. The dimensions are almost the same as the one you are proposing. It`s an idea if you want to save yourself some messing about with the wood, and getting it cut etc. They only cost about £18 per book shelf as well.
All you`ll need to do, is secure the shelving properly, seal it and get yourself some runners, vents and glass - then you`re away!

i done the same as you!

brought a tall deep bookcase yesterday. will be screwing shelves into place, adding glass, runners, vents and corner shelves for morw space.

will also now be using a bookcase for my rack i thinks!

will add pics when complete!
