Post New Viv Build

i am planning on building a new viv, as i plan on keeping 2 leos in it, the dimension im going for is 36x24x24 is this a good size? also i plan on doing the fake rock background because it looks awsome so basically i will be heating my tank with ceramic bulbs what im wondering is do i have 2 light holders at the warm side 1 for the ceremic bulb and 1 for the red heatlamp or is 1 ceremic good enough? also are UV's ok to use with leos as i read some where theyre nocturnal and dont need 1?

also whats the best kind of wood to use, i am thinking of using MDF, fully seal so it doesnt warp.

thanks in advanced

Firstly u dont need uvs for leos...so therefore u wont need ceramics.......

Id recommend melamine for ur viv of that size....... and then ud require a heat mat, on thermostat to heat the leos enclosure.....and a small 10 or 20 watt light just so u can see them...this is not essential but is a nice finishing touch.....

The set up you have mentioned is for bearded dragons etc...it much more expensive than a leo set up

the ceramic was because i may not have a floor so to speak as it will all be fake although i havent fully decided if i will just use the background or not . ive seen a really nice leo setup with background and floor cant remember the chaps name on here though and his set up inspired me

well once uve researched, u only require one ceramic fitting for that size viv. It generally houses one red heat bulb, or infra red bulb or ceramic bulb, you will not require two..... just use either dimming day and night thermostat or pulse thermostat with day and night facility and it will save u messing around turning temps up and lower them during the day/night.
