Default Advise on new set up please!

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase and set up a smallish viv for a couple of small water dragons but i'm a little stuck on what i'll need to do this.

I've been looking at the exo terra vivs. The 45 x 45 x 60 one. I'm a little stuck on what light and heat will be required for the cwds.

Could anyone point me in the right direction of what i'll need for a setup please?

Thanks

There should be some caresheets floating around in the caresheets section.

Just remember they wont be able to live in that for life.

Cheers for the response.

I plan to build a much bigger viv when they get bigger.

I've read the caresheets and understand what the cwds will need in tersm of heat and uv light. I'm more confused by what actual products (exo terra ones) I would need.

If you were to set up a 45 x 45 x60 exo viv, what would you buy for it?

well you'll need a heat bulb/cermanic heater wattage depends on distance from basking spots background temps etc), maybe a heat mat, substrate, lamp holder, UV bulb(probably something like a 5% or 7%, UV starter (or if you using a compact UV just a normal bulb holder), a large water dish, stuff to climb on

i dont know a huge amount about CWD but im fairly sure they'll need a bigger enclosure is a matter of months.

to be honest with you I don't keep CWD so I'm not sure. I would say however exo terra products are very pricey compared to non branded products which aren't specifically designed for reptiles. For example instead of buying lots of exo terra hides and decor you could make your own or find driftwoof and clean it etc. in some cases you can buy spotbulbs or small flood lights instead of exo terra bulbs, etc.

I think you could put this thread in the lizard section though. I know your asking about set-up but your asking what products they need and I think that's a valid thread in the lizard sub-forum, you'd get more responses I'd imagine.
