Default heating a 2ft viv

hello

can anyone tell me how they heat their small vivs(snake corn) ie mats,bulbs etc

We've just upgraded one of our Royals to a 2ft viv and are successfully heating it with a heatmat on the inside of the viv. The mat it covered to protect Calypso from burns.

got a heatmat inside the 2ft viv and realy not that happy with it,would i be better of with a ceramic? or red ir bulb?

I've just got a royal n a 2ft viv. I've got a heat mat on one side (at least an inch of substrate over it) with a bulb over that area on a dimming stat.....

Every thing seems to be fine got an ambient temp of 84F, cool end at 80F and hot spot of 90F...

cheers do you run the mat through the dimmer as well?

No I don't.

I was advised not to as night time temps need to drop a little any way....

well got a heatmat on half with stat sensor doirect on heatmat which is covered with aspen and not much heat seems to be getting through..think i will get a lamp set up..
