Just wondering if you can use pieces of wood from outside?
If so what types of trees are ok? Do you need to strip the bark off it, soak it in bleach and stick it in the oven for a while? High gas mark or low and for how long? Sorry for all the questions, just feel like finding a few nice branches for my snakeys without having to spend a fortune! ![]() |

Most branches are OK but try to avoid conifers and a few others like yew and rhodedendron which are toxic to humans.
Try to get freshly fallen 'clean', as opposed to rotting, branches. Taking the bark off removes most creatures, then leave until the sap dries out. Bleaching and baking might help but I'm sceptical.

generally anything apart from pine trees is ok, a soak in a strong bleach solution overnight will kill anything, i wouldnt bother with the oven step unless u want them "insta-dried"
