Default Fish tank to viv...

Hiya

My mate has asked me this, and im unsure of the answer haha

He has a huge fishtank, around 6' that he wants to turn into a viv...

How would he go about cleaning it to get it ready?

Does he even need to, as surely a rinse down and good scrub is enough?

Thanks guys

I've just finished my 4ft tank and I gave it a good rinse, scrub and wash down.

A good tip is to use a small amount of vinegar in the water

If you have any stains, use lemon juice.

I found when cleaning off things like algae that's dried to the glass walls is easy with some boiling water and a rough sponge, and some elbow grease! :P

But also (as mentioned above) anything with an acidic content works well, like vinegar and lemon juice as the guys said..

yup a good scrub is all that is needed, the secret to making a tank into a good viv is the hood, the hood is everything, secure well ventilated practical, easy access, give it a lot of thought before u go ahead it will save u problems later on.
