So, I'm getting my CWD very soon
and am no doubt going to need a big viv in no time. Seeing as I'm going to make it or at least customize it, I thought i'd ask how easy it is, and how suited it is to make a natural setup for a CWD. I mean the whole thing you know, live plants, live moss, springtails and woodlice. Is there some sort of fools guide on an amphibian site (possibly?). Any pics would be awesome ! |

from all the research ive done id say that CWD's are one of the best suited lizards to a natural setup! they like tall vivariums, they climb, they like high heat and humidity, and like water. so youve got all the ingredients for growing tropical plants.
i started a thread detailing my own build. its moving slowly at present, but there is some pictures of the fibreglass base ive made for it which will hold the water, plants, soil, etc. next step is to build the walls around it, and also to make fake rocks, etc which i am doing now. its taking forever, but when its done it will be worth it. its going to be 6.5' tall by 5' wide and 3' deep, with a big waterfall, a running "river", and several live plants/trees, plus fake ones to fill it up a bit. http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/habit...ium-build.html |
