Default is this possible?

i have 2 x vivs the same size with a heatmat and a ceramic in each.

the 2 ceramics are going to be running on their own stats just in case one fails but can i use one stat to control both heat mats?

i currently have a lucky reptile thermal control 2, just wondering if anyone uses these and if its possible?

thanks steve

Its possible to make a stat controll 2 heat sources. But it would be changing the heat in one tank according to the heat in the other. There is nothing to say that just because they are the same size they will be the same heat. So you might end up with on tank being heated successfully at a constant temperature, but the other could have changing heat in an incorrect way and end up overheated, underheated, or a temperature too unsteady for your animal.

You can do it as long aslong as the bulbs and mats don't exceed the 1000w limit, but it's not advisable. As said, you will be controlling the heat in one viv and the other viv will go up and down in temp according to what the other one does. Misting a viv changes the temp and makes the stat come on so if you mist one viv more you are going to bugger up the temp in the viv that has no probe.

Are you even planning on keeping the same reps in each viv?
