Default Building a project you choose

Ok here's the deal:
I want to build the most beautifull terrarium ever seen (i wish ) and be able to showcase it as a display model in my store.
Now I'd like you guys to come up with idea's that you've always wanted to see or things you think would be awesome.
I'll be accepting idea's as much as possible and try to incorporate them all.

Here's the things I'd like you to fill in:
-animal cage is for
-size of viv
-theme
-objects used (waterfall/hides/swimming pool/...)
-as much other things you'd like to add

I'll try updating the thread daily and that way we'll be able to get all our idea's together and build something kickasss

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

My idea is for a small group of Ruwenzori chameleons, with the theme being East African Rainforest.

The viv would be 5ft high by 3ft wide by 2ft deep.
The bottom foot would be a pool with tropical fish in which you can see against the glass (it wouldn't cover the whole depth, only maybe a foot or so).

The fish would be East African to go with the chameleons, e.g. Congo tetra, Kribensis, red-eyed tetra, Upside down Catfish etc.

There could be a waterfall running down from either a back top corner or from the middle of the back into the fish part.

The actual chameleons' part would contain lots of climbing branches and tropical plants, such as climbers, flowers e.g. orchids and potted plants up the side. Fake rocks could be made to stick out of the background, which itself could be made of fake rocks or cork.
Real rocks could be on the lower levels with a kind of moss spread over them.

The actual substrate would be peat.

There would be a basking spot at the front of the vivarium for them.

This is an idea that I've had for ages and I hope that you like it!

Thanks

Harry

Either that fish set up, or you could have some Malawi cichlids:

Tanganika:

2 pairs Brown Julie
2 pairs Daffodil
3 pairs Neolamprologus brevis
2 pairs Lemon Cichlid
5x Upside down catfish

Mbuna:

3x Labeotropheus trewavasae
3x Labidochromis caeruleus
3x Melanchromis johanni
3x Pseudotropheus livinstonii
3x Pseudotropheus estherae
3x Pseudotropheus zebra

What do you reckon?

(If you're not into fish I can send images)

Thanks

Harry

how about a green tree monitor? you could do a really large viv (5' high x 6' long x 3' deep) you could put in a large pool with a waterfall. use one of those bioactive substrates so it never needs to be cleaned and put small fish in pond snails and such in the pool.
or a really big mixed species viv. one of the forum members has a really cool one. theres a video of it on the mixing species thread on aboout page 18 or 19.

For ultimate dispaly vivs it has to be large fully planted and tropical. Waterfalls and live plants. I'm biased though.

ive always liked the idea of doing a massive(big) display that holds many different species.such as snakes, spiders, geckos etc
But obviously have them some how split up so they dont harm/eat each other.
Im guessing it would be impossible but still think it would look excellent.
Well it does in my head

I'm not really into fish (yet) but won't those cichlids eat eachother?
I really like your idea and the time you've put in making this list!

Couple more days till my leopard gecko terra and water dragon terra are done and then I'll pick a theme but I deff like the mixed species idea as well.
Might turn into mixed species+warm water aquarium incorporated underneath.

I'll have to see if I find the place tho for such large terras but I'm getting hungry for it!
