Default A formula for working out water capacity?

Is there a way of working out how much water a tank will hold. If you work out the volume, say a 3x2x2 will give you 12 cubic feet - can you work out how many litres or gallons that will hold?

Cheers

Find this works best for me for UK measures

Aquarium tank volumes, capacities and stocking levels - UK

or this for USA measures

Aquarium tank volumes, capacities and stocking levels - US

You can use google!

Only discovered this the other day but if you type into the normal google search box something like "£20 in dollars", "20oC in fahrenheit" or even wierd stuff like "20,000 ltrs in teaspoons" it'll work it out for you!

Give it a go!

In fact, i just did it myself! I typed in "Litres in 12 cubic feet" and it came up with

12 (cubic feet) = 339.802159 litres

and if gallons is more your thing...

12 (cubic feet) = 74.7459946 Imperial gallons
