Default Leo insists on lying directly on glass over heat mat

My Leopard Gecko has started to scoop away the sand from over the heat mat, and lie directly on the glass where it is hottest. I am worried this will damage her. I have tried different thicknesses of sand over the area but she still pushes it all away. She also likes to lie in a hide with damp spagnum moss in which is nowhere near as hot as under her rock, so I know she does like to be cooler at times. Any advice? Is she harming herself by getting as hot as possible on her tummy? The mat is 7w and the right size for the viv.

Do you have it on a thermostat? If so, it is probably a sign that she is comfortable and wanting that level of heat. If you havent, you probably ought to get one just in case.

Get a stat.

The fact she's using both the cool and the hot sides is a good sign.
