Did a quick search but couldn't see anything on this which surprised me really.
Do any of you guys have a system in place to supply heat/light in the event of a power cut? I was talking to my folks about it as we are having our main fuse box replaced soon and I was concerned with the dropping temperatures about how long the electrician was going to need to disconnect the power. During this chat my mom mentioned that there was apparently going to be higher chances of power cuts this winter so naturally I'm concerned for my girls and looking to set something up just incase.

If you're really worried about it get a small generator. They're really useful things to own anyway for garages, workshops, outdoor events, camping etc. small 600-800W ones are only about £50 new and very portable.

I have a small generator for my garage, when i have power cuts that last for a long time it is very useful as it can power my fishtanks and the royal RUB if needed (even the kettle). If you go down the route of getting a small genny spend a little extra and get a quite one.
