Hi,

Glad to see you want to go natural

I Haven't built my natural viv for my beardie yet, but I have been experimenting. This is the sort of landscape I want to recreate, only with branches to climb on as well.

A grassland type terrain.

This is what I have done for my hognose snakes;

This is in a 24x18x21 viv, so I want to do somthing similar in a 4 or 5 foot viv for my beardie.

The Grass to use is Carex Buchananii grass, as it is very tough, and even when dead, it seems to stay together, this is some carex I planted directly into clay soil about 4 months ago, and although this is where my chap has spent most of his time over the last 3 months or so, the grass has stayed together quite well;

what I plan to do is plant three quaters of the grass I buy directly into the clay, and the rest in pots, the ones in pots will have a chance of growing.

If you look at this pic, it shows the grass planted into the clay in the hognose viv;

I hope this gives you ideas, if you want some more advice then feel free to ask.

Jay

Hi Mike,

Cheers, The grass in the beardie viv is Buchananii, This is the one to go with as it is stronger than the rest. But feel free to try others as well
